KCRC's first indoor fun-fly of the season, which took place October 28th at the TAC Air hangar at McGhee Tyson airport, was double the fun because of some special guests that joined us at the event.
KCRC hosted Boy Scout Troop 147 at the fun fly and treated all the scouts to hamburgers, hot dogs, and a hangar full of RC aircraft. More than a dozen KCRC members turned out to fly a variety of electric airplanes and helicopters and teach the boys the fundamentals of flight. Many of the Boy Scouts tried their hand at flying using an RC flight simulator provided by the club. And all of our guests received an up-close-and-personal tour of a private business jet.
"This is what it's all about," commented KCRC president Dennis Drone. "Seeing how excited the boys were when they walked in and saw all the airplanes was a reward in itself. Hopefully some of these young men will develop an interest in flying and become RC modelers themselves someday."

If you're a Scout leader or head of another organization and would like to arrange an evening with KCRC, contact any of the KCRC officers. Or simply visit our field on any warm weekend and we'll be glad to show you around.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
